Alternative Energy is of huge and global concern in our society today.
Some sectors of our society have interpreted "Alternative Energy" research as a means to improve our existing usage of what we have today. There is no question that more efficient applications of what is current is a great objective... however.... Is it alternative energy?

Science and Mythology
Throughout history, alchemists and magicians have claimed that crystals contained great magical powers. Even today, there are people that have managed to keep that "magic" alive to market their wares.
We, by no means, have any interest in some of the mystical and magical representations sometimes referred to as "Junk Science". That Science be associated with some of the misrepresentations and exaggerations of marketeers in society frequently henders progress.
With that said.... the old expressions such as "where there is smoke there is fire...." and " behind every myth, there lies a little truth..." indeed have some merit.

Fact: Legends exist claiming crystals have magical power...
Fact: The word "magical" can mean a lot of things both by definition and also by history. A simple thing such as a match would be magic to a cave man, however, today to call it magic would be considered to be an exageration.
Fact: When some of us were kids in school, we built little thing called a "crystal radio". It was educational, fun and yes magical... and very contradictory to children of today.
Why contradictory? Two reasons; first, our children of today are taught that nothing is free, and second, energy is very complicated and hard to generate. Yet, here is an apparatus that takes energy from "space" and coverts it to audio or AC energy with no moving parts, no fuel and can never wear out....

Up until just a few years ago (as technology has progressed) the "Crystal Radio" was a toy, a devise for kids which could not produce enough energy to power a normal light bulb or be useful in other ways.
Today we seldom even think of such things as we awaken to a new day by turning on the lights and beginning the routine of our lives. We do not have time to spend thinking of little historical events that relate to the high tech world we are getting ready to step into as part of our daily routine.
But Wait....! Lets take a second and let our imaginations go beyond the routine....
Today we have those little things called LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), they use hardly any energy, they are bright, they don't break,they produce very little heat... is it possible for the "magic" of that crystal to be able to operated such device TODAY?
You bet it is...! But is it magic? the only answer to that is " it was yesterday... today it is an alternative energy source. "
